I know some people think these are ugly, and I guess if I had to look at a lot of them all the time - I might, too.  But I just think they're amazing and a huge improvement over chopping the tops off our mountains to harvest the coal for energy.  These turbines are temporary!  So what if they are ugly (to some) - a hundred years from now, when a new source of energy has been invented and made available to us all, they can be removed with little or now damage done to the mountains they're sitting on.  Unlike the alternative - in a hundred years, those stripped-mined mountains will still have their tops missing!
