An Unusual Memorial

On the ride home today, I saw this truck with a strange contraption on top.  I thought it was the Google truck that drives around taking street-view pictures.  When we got up closer, it was something completely different.  Can you see why I thought that?  Goal . . . find the real Google truck (or van, or whatever) and take a picture of it.

In the meantime, I decided to take another . . .

Today's picture is of the unusual roadside memorial I pass by every day to and from work.  The victim was the first death on the new Coalfields Expressway, and as you probably guessed, was killed while riding his bicycicle on a perfect early spring day a couple of years ago.  The family keeps this memorial freshly painted totally white, and includes a wooden plaque with details.  The first time I saw it, I felt like I had seen a ghost.

Good old Charlie Williamson...I bought my computer lab equipment from him when I taught at ACT. He was a good guy...what a shame.

About PictureADay

I wanted to write a blog. I found a template that I love! But didn't come up with an idea till the night of September 14, 2009. My goal now is to post a picture with comments every day. On the rare day that I don't take an original picture, I'll post one that I have gotten from somewhere else.
Enjoy!
