I posted this picture on Facebook in June, before I de-activated my account and started over a few weeks later.  This is my girl, Alexis.  She was my student from Kindergarten through 5th grade, but we didn't really get to be friends till a couple of years later when she volunteered to help with our summer reading program for the little kids.  My graduation gift to her was her registration fee for the ACT - at the very last minute just in time to get results for the fall semester.  She's working on a BS in nursing . . . and she'll make a great nurse.
